Our Philosophy
Anyone who has been properly educated will sense when something… hasn’t been finely crafted…..he’ll praise fine things, be pleased by them, receive them into his soul, and, being nurtured by them, become fine and good. -Socrates
Classical in our goals – Since the time of the Ancients, wise people have recognized that the goal of education is much more than good grades, money, or even a set of skills. Education is primarily about human formation- a young woman or young man become a person who knows how to live well in the world. (portrait of a graduate)
Classical in our methods – There is no curriculum that can substitute for a teacher who loves her students and loves the content she teaches. Rather than deploying tablets, videos, and worksheets, we rely on traditional, time tested methods. At Redeemer, we sing, recite, listen, read, write, and discuss.
Classical in our content – Our students study what is true, good, and beautiful. Whether it’s geometry, art, poetry, or biology, our aim is always to present students with the best. As people have done for centuries, Redeemer uses the great books, great works, and great ideas of the world as the text for our learning.
